| Just took the GRE this morning!The vocabulary in this book was fantastic. All the words I saw on the actual test I remembered seeing in the book. The only trouble was I didn't remember some of the definitions. Totally my fault, by the way. Great intuitive book. The Math section was pretty well written. A lot of the strategies in there I was already using, but they were great to review and see expressed in words.
I'm a computer science major and my verbal score was over 600 so I'm happy. This book definitely helped verbally, but I can't really say anything about the math, because I really didn't use or need that section.
But this is a good buy for anyone who is taking the exam. Too bad they don't really have a way to qualitatively assess essay scores. The advice they give for that section, though, is helpful.
Great!!This is a great book for practicing the GRE. I was impressed by the verbal section and although the Maths section was a bit confusing, I got hold of it in the end. Great purchase!

Very UsefulI bought this book to help me study for the AFOQT, but later began to use it for the entrance exam. This book is very helpful with the pages and pages of words and definitions to learn (with little quizzes at the end of a handful). I found that I may not be as smart as I thought I was! :) But with Barron's GRE book it helped me refresh my memory on the math portion and helped me learn with the vocabulary. I would definitely recommend it. It was recommended to me!
Good Verbal, Bad MathThe verbal revew really boosted my score. However, the math review was soooooooooooo boring, not that this book is meant to entertain, but I felt like hitting my head against a brick wall before any of the concepts in this book's math rewiew would sink in as easy as other books, like the nova math bible or any of the other popular books. Also, the math practise test have really strange questions that I did not see in the official GRE practice tests. Good luck with the GRE, hope this helps.
